Payefy Limited ("Payefy", "Company", "we", "us" or "our") offers a financial infrastructure platform designed for tertiary institutions, student executives, and developers. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users' personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data from Website Visitors, Students, and Administrators.

1. Data Collection & Usage

We handle personal data in accordance with the principles of personal data processing as described in the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023. Data is collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes:

• Identity Verification: We collect Matriculation Numbers, Full Names, and Faculty assignments to ensure only registered students can complete clearance workflows.
• Payment Processing: Transaction histories and payment references are logged to provide immutable proof of payment to faculty treasuries.
• Communication: Email addresses and phone numbers are used solely for delivering digital receipts, platform notifications, and security alerts.

2. Core Privacy Commitments

• No Data Brokering: We strictly do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
• No Generative AI Training: We do not use user data, transaction histories, or institutional records to train artificial intelligence models (LLMs, generative models, or otherwise).

3. Data Retention Policy

To support academic auditing, institutional compliance, and dispute resolution, Payefy retains transaction records and associated student data for a period of 2 to 4 years post-graduation. Following this mandatory retention period, records are securely anonymized or destroyed in accordance with our data lifecycle policies.
